Cargill Right Now Onyx Mineral

Hi Everyone,

I have not posted here in quite some time but I was just told today that Cargill is planning to discontinue their Right Now Onyx mineral or only have it on a Special Order basis. My feed store can no longer get it. I just call the company and spoke to a rep. I asked them to reconcider keeping on the market. I was thinking that if enough of us called they might change there decision. I don't know how you all feel but I feel it has made a huge difference in my goats.

I think I'm going to buy the feed store out of what they have on hand.

Okay, I wrote to them. If the minerals are going to be difficult to obtain, I am going to order a bunch now!! I normally have to special order them from a local farm store anyway, but it sounds as though they might not be as easy as that to get in the future. We'll see what they say.

The Cargill rep for this area just called. He said he has *not* heard of plans to discontinue Onyx, but admitted that it is not one of the high volume sales items. He asked really good questions about where the HT goat forum people lived.

He's arranging for delivery of two bags to the feed store in the next town over, as they carry their products. YIPPEE!

Please continue to talk to Cargill. I told him we are an important niche market.

I just finished the last of mine and now have to find another mineral as the nearest Cargill dealer is 3 hours away.

Actually, he's having it delivered to Jackson County Feed in Edna, Texas. That's near where I am during the winter.

I had a call into my local rep. She just call me back and explained that they are not discontinuing Right Now Onyx but that in the North East because of low demand it will be a special order. She told me that I would need to order a pallet (40- 50lb bags). My feed store does not sell enough of it to order a pallet at a time. She is looking into finding a store that might ship it to me.
