I could use a hug
Both of my goats aren't pregnant... so that means Eli is our only baby until 2015. I'm hoping I got the dates 1 month off and they will somehow pop out babies! At least singles!

GraceAlice...how do you know for sure? Missed the due date? Blood test? You saw them bred? Hang in there...Eli is adorable and if you think you could have missed the dates, maybe there will be more.

Hahaha, dozedotz you crack me up!
Well... they would be due in four days, I haven't seen or felt any kids, their behinds aren't loose at all, and absolutely NO udder development. Hopefully I got the dates wrong, I know that is the day they bred, but they might have gone into heat without me noticing or something.

I hope so! We haven't yet had a girl born on this farm, I was hoping for a "doe year" but it obviously isn't a year at all! lol

(((((hugs)))) did you see the does ever come back into heat? Did they stay with the buck for a long time? You would be surprised at how well a doe can hide her pregnancy.
Could you perhaps post a side profile of each doe? I am pretty good at telling if a doe is pregnant by how their belly looks from the side (sounds weird but true). Shoot post some hoo-ha photos so we can see if maybe they are .
I have had does who have gone from nothing to "WOAH!" in a few days. Don't give out hope!

I have a doe due next Wednesday that doesn't even look pregnant. She's a 2 year old FF. I saw her breed and she never came back in heat. So I'm sure she's bred.

I'm sorry, I spent 5 hours last night building rabbit enclosures! I will go out there today and get some when I can. It's really busy around here with the rabbits due today/tomorrow. Emergency pens, blah blah blah. Lot of work last night. So, anyway, I will get them today!

It could happen to any of us. I must have missed something with Felina cause her due date came and went and she is now developing an udder.

Well, they don't look pregnant. At least not due anytime soon. Maybe they will kid at a later date. I had a Lamancha once I swore was not bred that ended up having triplets! So, you never know.

Yeah I know they don't look pregnant... at all. Which is what makes me so mad. I was hoping you guys would somehow say that they absolutely look pregnant,, LOL
Well, we'll see I guess. Hoping someone else will chime in too so I can get a few more opinions. I agree with you though Wendy!

Hmmm Alice I could see might be pregnant though not due for a while. She looks about how my coming 2yr olds who are due in March look like. Betty I don't think is bred but have you felt for any udder tissue? How I look to see if a doe is pregnant is by looking at their belly right in front of where their udder would be. If the belly starts going flat instead of slightly swooping up towards their "udder" area I can generally safely say they are bred.
I will see if tomorrow I can't get a picture of one of my does to give you an example of what I mean . It is hard for me to get a real good read on your two does because the angles are a bit hard for me to see that part of their body. But tomorrow I will try and remember to get a photo and show you .
Okay I actually just found a picture that will work. I drew an arrow pointing to the area I am talking about.
Now the doe in the photo is not even a year but she is not bred and gives you an idea of what I mean. See how her belly swoops up a bit? I have seen in does that are bred that the area I show starts going "flatter" and and filling out. So you won't have it swooping up it fills out so the belly goes more straight back. It doesn't matter if the doe has a single or quads within a few weeks of getting bred if I start looking I can see a change in that area of the belly before anywhere else. Now there is the odd doe who obviously can fool you but in my herd this is how I can tell if a doe is bred or not most of the time before I see any other signs.
I hope I am making some sort of sense. I am rather exhausted and had a long day so if I am not I apologize.

Thanks Justine! I will go out there and look at them/take pictures today so I can't judge them. The sense you made was just fine.

Have you checked that LaMancha doe to make sure you don't have some kind of reproductive issue(hermie)? It may just be the angle of the picture, but the vulva looks pointed up quite a a bit.
