Looking for stanchion plans

I have a standard stand that I made, but I need something for the bucks that have really wide horn sets. This would make my life so much easier with their maintenance.

Can anyone share pictures or a website for a do it yourselfer? Even metal plans would work.

Thanks!

I don't have a picture on my computer & it's dark but since we used to have horned goats we made my stand to accommodate the horns. I just did 1 wood post in the front with a metal eye hook & a strap with a hook(I used a short horse lead) then I make sure the goat has a collar on & clip them to the hook.
The feed dish has a hook on the other side for what ever snacks you put in there to keep them busy.

Base is a pallet, no exp making anything before this - still holds up! The v is as wide
as the pallet when it's open, I use an old dog collar to close it, I just slide it up and down

There's a lot of room front and back where ours hits at their chests, easy to
move around if they had horns in the way.

Both are great ideas! My current stand does not open that far. You know what I'll be doing in the next few weeks. Our Kiko buck has over a 2 1/2 foot spread from tip to tip, and he knows exactly where they are when he wants to use them.

When I win the lottery I'm going to buy one of those super nice metal stanchions that turn to lay the goat on it's side, with a built in scale, that comes with a full time farm hand........

Here is an extension publication set of plans. Notice for horned goats, both sides open in a Y so their head and horns fit through easier. If the horns are really wide, you could Y the outside vertical braces to get a wider opening.

Good luck and if my suggestions don't make sense, feel free to ask for clarification.

Thanks, we've had it for 3yrs now - it's needed a little better securing in
the legs but generally does the job! And if I can do it, anyone can!

Hubby built me a welded metal stanchion for the bucks after one demolished my milk stand. I'll take a pic in the morning.
