Ol' Fathful
Faith delivered today on her due date. Bagged up and lost ligs in 24hrs, 1 hour labor. Now that's the stealth kidding I'm used to! One very lanky buckling both are doing fine. Yeah, no more barn night checks until March!

Paintpony and IndyGardenGal, send me your addresses and some goat pics, you tied for this one. And Vancom, you called both the order, number and sexes for both does!

I would really like to see their portraits when you finish them, would you be able to post pictures before you send them out?

Sure thing!

I'm realizing this morning, just how fat faith is! Hope was all babies, but my goodness Faith has been laying on that feed! Hoping to get a good season of milk off her this year before drying off.

Not the boys but maybe the girl. We have a decent market for meat wethers around here. She might be a good candidate to breed for meat kids and still be a good milker when the kids are weaned. She'll be our only keeper kid for the year, we'll breed her and see how she does. And dang, she's cute!

All white makes me think she's a touch Saanen?

I had a Saanen doe who always waited until after dark to bag up and give birth. I would check her out at night and think that maybe tomorrow she'd start kidding. Then in the morning I'd go in and she'd stand there nursing a new kid or two and look at me like she was saying, "Oh. Hey. Yeah, I kinda had a long night, but ain't they cute?!"
