Doe having trouble delivering

One of our does has been in labor since yesterday. We've tried reaching in to pull the kid but it isn't close enough. We don't know what to do here and would welcome any suggestions.

thanks

You have to REACH IN.

Whoever has the smallest hands, wash up, lube up with veg oil, make a pointy cone with your fingers, thumb tucked in and GO IN.

You are going to be past your wrist at least.

Try to figure out what part of the kid you are feeling. You need matching front hooves and nose or matching back hooves. GENTLY pull down and out.

This page has good drawings of what may be wrong. You have to make a mental pic of what you are feeling.

You are going to have to re-arrange what is in there so it can come out or the doe will die.

BE SURE that you get hooves from the same kid. If there are multiples, it's easy to get mismatched hooves.

Thanks Alice! The kid was backwards in the birth canal. We had to reach in farther than we've ever done before.

The mother was an awesome patient and all is well now. She's up and eating, and no doubt relieved.

That is very good, but be sure there are not others in there...sometimes if one had a problem, any others will, too.

RULE #1 OF POSTING IN THE GOAT FORUM
The kid ain't real till we see pics!

RULE #2
We can't tell if she's pregnant until we see her girly bits. Get over the feeling of taking really naughty pics and snap away!

RULE #3
You can't post a HELP topic-especially when it comes to kidding and then not post a follow up.....and if it's a happy ending WE WANT PIC'S!!
