Today's wintery pictures
Here some pictures from this morning while doing chores. It's still snowing & coming down pretty good right now.
Some of the goats didn't want to stay out in the snow but I have a few in there.
I Love all the fresh white snow & everything is so pretty.

Pretty! Pretty! That hay looks like really good stuff, too. Very green. Won't be long and the dogs will need snow shoes! lol Went out this morning to clear the bird feeders and add seed...like the goats I don't mind it as long as I stay dry. When you get wet, it is a different story. Stay warm up there!

If it wasn't snowing the black/white dog would be laying out in the snow, crazy dog & he has plenty of places to go inside!

They definitely don't look like newfies to me because of the red and little "freckles"... hmmm... are they one of those really pretty guardian breeds?

That hay rack I bought at Tractor supply. I just put wood on top to keep it dry. Seems to work good for us although there is still quite a bit of waste I think but so far I haven't found a hay feeder that goats can't waste hay from.

A friend took a hay feeder meant for horses. They cut the legs down short enough for goats and did some remanufacturing on the legs so they wouldn't rust after being cut. They also put a type of skid shoe on the legs to make it easier to move.

Your Karakacans are great looking dogs. Knowing nothing about them, and having a Newfoundland myself, I do see some Newfie-like traits in there. Did they use the Newfie way back when to create the breed?

The body shape and fluffy ears definitely remind me of my past newfie, Mabelline.

I don't think they Newfie in them or at least I can't find anything in any articles saying so.
They are a very ancient breed from Bulgaria, actually the Karakachan dog, karakachan sheep & Karakchan horse are the oldest domesticated animals in Europe.
