Question about heat

I have one doe that's not coming in to heat or not a screaming heat any ways. She was one of 3 that was give lute to link up heats. Two shots 10 days apart. The 3 when 1 1/2 hours away to be bred. Other 2 came into heat and where bred. She now in with a younger buck (6 months) for about 2 1/2 weeks. We've kept a close eye watching and checking her behind. Still nothing going on. A judge told us she maybe hard to breed because she has small teats. So I guess I'm asking if anyone has any ideas?

She may be a freemartin or a hermaphrodite. I had a doe like that. BEAUTIFUL but really small skinny teats and she never would breed or really come in heat. The older she got the more bucky she got.

I've not had good sucess using lute for heats. CIDRs work better for me. I gave Lute to 3 does last weekend, 2 shots 12 days apart... two of the 3 never came into heat. Still haven't. So, bucks have marking harnesses on and are in with the does to figure it out better than I can.

I was thinking of trying these next year : (Estrotect patches). The harness crayons I'm currently using last like a week. I don't understand it - seems like they should last a few weeks with as few does as I have. But, the bucks lay outside and it cakes up with sand/dirt/hair and that's it...

Edit to ad: Last year I also got a couple doses of lute from my vet and tried to induce an alpine doe with it - no signs of heat, but we threw her in with the buck. Dad said she wasn't disgusted by him but he did not see any flirty behavior or mounting... she was pregnant when I tested her a month later though...

I wasn't really worried about the small teats till now. Her full sister was the same way and has nice teats after her first freshen. Her mom just came into standing heat over the weekend for the first time this year. So I'll wait in see I guess.

You can tell if she is a freemartin by inserting a gloved and lubricated finger. You should be able to get a whole finger in there (though there is a hymen that you need to maneuver around). If you can only get the tip in, she probably is a freemartin. My friend has one, and you can only get in to the second knuckle. Freemartins will not cycle, hermaphrodites sometimes do. Very small teats sometimes indicate one of those conditions. Also look at her vulva, compare with another doe her age. Does she look different than the others, especially down at the tip?

Thank you Frosted Mini's. I'll check her to see about the freemartin. Her vulva looks normal already checked that.
