Coughing goat

Hi! I have a coughing dairy doe. My daughter says it sounds kind of productive. It is not all the time but several times a day. She has a clear runny nose also. What do you suggest? Our OTHER dairy doe has now started a little cough also. But no runny nose.

First thing to do is get a temp on both of them. Are they eating, drinking, pooping normal? New hay or moved to different area by chance?

Temps are normal and nothing has changed food-wise or pen-wise.

I'm always afraid of lungworms when there is a cough. When was the last time you dewormed and was it with something that gets lung worms?

Is it long, drawn-out coughing, or just an occasional cough? My gals will cough a bit (and get a bit of a runny nose) when the weather changes, and also when it's cold.

Still, Minelson is right to check out the worm angle.

Does your goat have to reach up or down to get hay?

Good thought on the weather. It got really cold here very quickly and that is when it started.
