Limping goat

This morning I noticed one of my does was limping one her left front leg. I found a small cut above her pastern and put triple antibiotic ointment on it. However, there is also significant heat below her knee, and she is favoring her leg pretty badly. She is currently on stall rest, but is there anything else I should do or watch out for? She is in about one of the safest places a goat could be, a dry lot, so how she managed to do this I have no idea...

If you have recently trimmed hooves, another goat could have stepped and got her leg. Those hooves are pretty sharp sometimes!

Have you taken her temp? Might indicate an infection starting?

Ditto on taking her temperature. Just keep a close eye on things for any changes.

I trimmed all of their hooves about two weeks ago, so they probably aren't very sharp but the other goat she is with is rather large and is also the herd queen.

I just checked her temperature and it was 101.8. I'll keep an eye on her and her temperature. So far she's acting perfectly normal aside from her hurt leg.
