Update on why I've been mostly absent

In case anyone was wondering why I haven't posted frequently, here's the short version of the story.

In midsummer, I purchased another house and 20 acres next to my place here in Missouri. It was bought at auction, so the property was "as is."

It was obvious going in that the roof had to be replaced, the house needed to be cleaned, and some repairs done. What wasn't obvious was that the electrical system would need a major overhaul, the plumbing needed tweaking, the outside clean up would take a week, etc etc etc.

On top of this, my family had some issues develop that needed my attention. No broken bones, thank goodness, but time consuming and mentally exhausting.

As of this week, the roof in on the house, I *think* we are past the worst of the family crisis, and I'm packing up to head to Texas soon.

The goats are good, the dogs are good, and I'm working on winding down from an incredibly busy summer.

So happy things are done and you can get back into your normal groove. Although, when I think of you I think of someone who always has something going on! Have a safe trip to Texas and it's so good to have you back on here

[QUOTE=Alice In TX/MO;6797211] the electrical system would need a major overhaul [\QUOTE]

Is this the one I was talking with you about? I told you pre-1970s houses were trouble electrically speaking

Sorry about your troubles but glad to have you back

I have four houses here in Missouri, and I don't remember which one we were talking about. This house isn't the old one.

The problem here isn't the age of the house, as I've had every one of them worked on. The problem is there is NO code here, and I could print business cards that say I'm an electrician. At least I *know* not to do that.
