Weaning?

How long do you leave the kids with mum? I have three very cheeky kids born on the 18/9/13 and they drink so veraciously that they are actually cutting mums udder with their sharp bottom teeth. (She actually had bleeding cuts in her udders) they nudge her and actually lift her up- looks awful must feel like they go to her backbone.
I took the kids out last night & penned them separately to give her a break & put manuka honey/lanolin cream mixed with her milk all over her udder/teats yesterday. With no one drinking off her I milked her this morning & she had 2.3 litres! I'm worried that this is a huge fluid/food amount for the babies to do without (but yay for me I had the best decadent milkshake after drinking blah shop cows milk for what seems like forever since I milked her last

If they are only 1 month old then they still need to nurse off of mamma. You can however separate the kids & mamma at night milk her in the a.m. if you wish then put the kids back with her for the rest of the day, that's what some dairy folks do so the kids get milk & so do they.

You could maybe switch them to bottles or a bucket. Sounds like a pain to me, but it might be possible.
