No store bought milk

So I just realized we haven't bought milk for over a week!! Our little goaty has been giving us plenty with once daily milking. Took a little time to get kids used to it. At first they didn't like it but then we just kept slipping it in place of store milk without telling them. Next thing you know they were drinking it just fine.

Hurrah! Our son is so used to it, that when he has regular milk at my dad's house, he things it's spoiled...he says it tastes sour.

The first time my daughter tasted goat milk she turned her nose up, she took barely a taste, then refused to drink it. So, I mixed a little in her store bought milk and gradually increased it until after about a week it was 100% goat milk. When I told her what I'd done, she was greatly perturbed! I apologized and gave her the option that she didn't have to drink it. After a few days I was about to give up and I thought maybe she really didn't like it... Until I caught her sneaking into it.

So far everyone that's tried it has liked it right away. I've even had a couple say they don't like goat milk so I insisted they try it. I love to see surprise on their face when they realize how good it is.

It's wonderful when you have all the milk your family needs right from your own farm! I dread when the girls are dry & run out of my milk in the freezer then I have to buy store milk!
No one here can really tell the difference in store milk & our goats milk other than it's richer than the 2% I'd buy if getting it from the store.

I think that the main diff was because we normally buy 2% milk at the store. The goat milk is WAY thicker and creamier texture.
