I guess you'll find out. Most of mine are indignant, but I'm bigger/meaner than they are so I do it anyways.

Have you ever tried sticking something in a goats ear? I'm thinking the other end is easier!

They are in the milk stand when checking temperature at either end.

The only thing I can think of that may be an issue besides actually sticking something in the goats ear is if the ear thermometer is going to read right. I'd do an anal and an ear and see if they match up a few times. For all I know the ear canal may read 2 or 3 degrees lower than the anal and you'd have to adjust for that.

Are the ear thermometers for humans adjusted for the potential difference?

That's what I'm thinking. It doesn't seem any too likely that the ear is going to be the same temp as under the tongue. But I don't know what the allowable variation owuld be either. If you ahve a goat that doesn't go nuts with the anal method you could try it and check the ear to see. There's hair in the ear and I'm not sure how big the goats ear canal is and if the end of the ear therm will hit or fit the goat ear. Gotta try it and see I guess.

Lets us know, eh?

The 7.99 is for replacement covers only...the actual thermometer is $41. I can't get it to link to the actual thermometer

We use a Braun that no doubt came from Wally World on our kids, the human ones. We have a hard time keeping it working just from being stored in a bathroom medicine cabinet. I'm not sure how they'd hold up in a barn and outdoor environment.
