Question Unwanted Pregnancy

Yesterday my daughter had her 2 4h nigi does out in the yard with her when our neighbor's buck somehow broke through the fence and within seconds was mounting one of the does.
My concern is that the buck is big and I know carrying and delivering his babies may be dangerous, maybe even fatal for the doe.
Other than being mad at my neighbor (arggggg!) what can I do here? Is there a "morning after" pill for goats???

Ask the vet for a shot of lutalyse. I would wait and see if she comes back in heat in 18-21 days, if not, give the shot.

No morning after - but you can lute. Lutalyse - It is vet RX - dosage is always 2 ml, and must be given IM to be effective. You need to wait at least 2 weeks from the breeding date before you give it for it to work right. I usually wait 3 weeks before giving it, to see if they re-cycle. Sometimes they don't need it after all. **Use gloves with this drug.

What everybody else said. Lutelyse will terminate a pregnancy at any point after about 14 days after conception.

Do NOT use it earlier than that.

Do NOT use a smaller dose than that.

Do NOT give subcutaneously - give intramuscularly in the big rear leg muscle.

You will not see a fetus or likely any signs of 'abortion' at that stage.

You may see her come into heat (usually a RAGING heat too, lol) about 3 days after you give the shot.

I think it's irresponsible to allow a pregnancy like this to go to term, so you're considering the right thing!
