New buckling pics
Sorry about the quality of the photos. Dead camera battery. This is Rubystar Spessartite (Spaz for short). He is a 14 week old Brittish Guernsey.

What a cutie! Tell me about the breed. It must be fairly new? With the name, I'm thinking a good milker?

They are beautiful goats! They're milk and butterfat production is very enticing to me. They are similar in size to my mini alpines, also.

The Guernseys we have are not small in size. The two adult bucks are over 200 pounds and the does are larger than the Toggs we used to have. Was happy with the milk production at around a gallon or little more per day.

My Guernsey goats are small, mine are 88%, the only ones I have seen that are large are the crosses with the bigger goats. Not saying they can't be large I guess, but for the most part they are small, which I adore. My doe has amazing rich creamy, and oddly enough golden colored milk, which I hear is a trait. Sweet, calm, and great milk, can't beat that!

Well, my mini alpine buck is 180 lbs.
The does I have seen, just on display at the W. ID fair, were mid-size goats, about the size of my mini's, which are about 90-120 lbs.

Our big Guernseys are all full British Guernsey level.
Had our bucks at our county fair and was leading one though a crowd and people were in awe of how massive and tall he was but he leads perfectly walk beside you and never pulls in the leash at all. Gentle and better than most dogs.

That is a big boy for sure! Hope my buck stays a little smaller than that!! I don't think mine will get as big as my Nubians, anyway I hope!
I guess I am confused, and reading this http://www.goldenguernseygoat.org.uk...hguernseys.htm
it does make sense some are bigger than others.
no matter what the size, I love them.

What herd background do your Guernseys come from? Ours are all Bluecollar genetics starting from Diane Gray's herd. Diane was in WA so that is really all we see around this area. Maybe the Bluecollar genetics are larger? Surprising since her F1s were Oberhasli crossed and Oberhaslis tend to be a smaller breed. Our Guernsey girls are larger than most of the Obers we have seen at the shows.

They are beautiful and so easy going, I have taken to brushing my doe, her hair just wasn't pretty. Now she looks awesome and talk about grooming, she will stand for hours on the stand if I will brush her, then she will turn around so I can get the other side, grain? nope not when she is getting her hair brushed she stops everything so she can concentrate on the brushing.
They are gentle, couldn't ask for a nicer personality.
Skeeter, do you have other Guernseys?

Yes, Poppypatch, this is a King Midas son.
I contacted you about your sales, but you said there was a group buying the lot. I wish you were closer to me, I'm in Virginia.
Loving Life, I don't have any more at the moment. Next year I plan on breeding this boy to Corabelle (Saanen) plus I'm looking for another doe and possibly another buck next year.
