lump with liquid/one side drying up

my nilla has a peach sized lump on her neck, on the top, about where a collar would land. i think she may have developed it from pushing on the fence too hard eating hay on the other side. i use my cattle panel fencing as a feeder, and they put their heads thru it. so i drained this now a few times, the liquid looks almost like urine, goldish in color, no smell. i get it to empty as best as i can, it drains out fast but then in a day or so, its full again. what do i do with this??

and....ethel is still milking, but one side is drying up but the other is full. what is that about??

The yellow tinge would make me think infection that would require antibiotics. Did you check her temp by chance? Is it right on top of her neck? How long has she had it and did it start out that big?
Picture would be great!

Oh I see you said it is on the top of the neck. I'm afraid you might need to lance it and add a drain. If you are using a needle it is probably closing right up and that why it keeps filling up. I wonder if it started as a wound and got infected and that is why it won't heal.

Maybe there is a splinter in there? If it is not open enough, it can't drain well. Have you considered CL? If I had a goat with abscess, anywhere on the body, but head/neck makes me more suspicious, I would get it tested, just in case. It probably isn't that, but better to know either way.

Also have the milk from the half that is drying up on its own tested for mastitis with a culture. There are some mastitis bugs that don't show anything in the milk, and will cause a side to dry up like that.
