Hi everyone..its been a long time .. I've missed you all. Heck..my sign-in went from Sherry in Iowa to Sher..oh well..at least I'm back.
Hubby has been down going on 8 weeks now..he's been doing so much better the last 2 weeks..all praise to God..and we hope that the MRI taken yesterday shows that he is healing. (back problems)
I've been trying to keep up and my fibro is flaring. I need to sell my 2 Alpine milk girls. My heart is heavy on this..they are truly my best friends. The mornings are my favorite time because that's when they get milked.
Both stand at the door of the milk house and are eager to be milked. They are once a day milkers. The routine is that Lucille goes first, then Peachy. They are champs on the milk stand. I've never had a problem with them there. They are loving and I can't say enough about them and their lovely attitudes.
They both need their hooves trimmed..something I cannot manage. Lucille eats 2 cups of oats and 1 cup of boss with half an apple chopped on it. Peachy eats 2 heaping cups of oats and 1 boss with a few shredded wheat on top. I know..

They also eat alfalfa hay..twice a day right now.
I've started to dry up Lucille . . she has been milking for 2 years now. Peachy is doing great and I wasn't going to dry her up .. not breed her this year. Lucille is 8 I think and Peach 3-4. They would do great if you wanted to jack them up to twice a day milkings.
I also have Sweet Billy an alpine buck. It's who I was going to use on Lucille. He and Peachy had a nice set of kids this spring.
Lucille, Peachy and Sweet Billy have all been tested for CL, CAE and Johannes and all were fine. They live together and have not been exposed to other goats here.
I'd like $700.00 for the three of them. If I hear the right things..I will let them go cheaper. There are 2 things that are important to me..and if I hear that from inquirers..the price will be lower.
I don 't know what else to say about my girls..I love them..I'm in tears writing this..but if I go down and can't milk..there's no one here that can milk them. That's not fair to them. I don't want to separate them..
Thanks for reading. They are all three de-horned. We are in Southeast Iowa.
