Let the breeding begin! Mini mancha's please!

Thor my little Nigerian romantic stinker got to bred my little Buttercup(aka Butters)Lamancha doe this morning. She was in standing heat so got all the other gals put in the chicken yard away from the romance. Let Thor out with Butters got her 5-6 times and she said no more. He walked right back in to his pasture when I opened the gate. The best part I did not get any stinky rutty romance on me! Yay! Wonder if the babies will have ears or not??? By March 2 we should know! Hopefully this breeding took. Keeping fingers crossed! Next month The rest of the doe's get their fair share of Romance! This is the first year we get to have controlled breedings. Our other billy that no longer resides here was a escape artist/fence climber. He went bye bye last fall. No more mid-winter babies!
GoldenWood Farm and April like this.

I got elf ears with Lamancha does and a Boer buck. I kinda think they are neat looking. I am ready for the breeding to be over. I pulled a doe out of my buck pen this morning and nearly lost a knee. I want my sweet boy back. But like you mentioned, knowing the due date is going to be worth the risk. Last year we had one kidding that took us completely by surprise, and lost a kid because of it.
