OT: Surgery tomorrow

Tomorrow is the day! I am supposed to be checking in at 7am at the hospital and surgery is scheduled for 9am. Chances of me actually getting in for surgery at 9am I am guessing are pretty small because we all know how that goes .

These past few days have been a whirlwind of trying to get goat stuff done before surgery. But I did it! Everyone has clipped hooves, been wormed, BOSE shots have been given and Replamin Plus gel for this week is done. I have another ton of hay in the barn, put two milk stands in the loft until Spring to make room for said hay. I moved everyone into their breeding pens (normally I never do breeding pens but I am only using 2 bucks this year and with surgery it works out better). Now I can keep an eye on everyone to see who comes into heat without having to struggle with moving animals while healing from surgery. Win win for me!

I will post an update later tomorrow if I am not to drugged up .

Justine

HOW do they DO that?

Thinking of you, wishing the best of all possible outcomes!

Take Good Care. Take the time to heal well, going back at it too fast will just set you back in the long run. Laparoscopy seems so less invasive from the outside but it's till a major trauma to the system, let yourself heal well. (speaking from experience)

Oh, I'm praying they find some answers for you.

I'm sure you will feel pretty good after just a couple of days since you are young and thin, but take aart's advice and take it easy. It's really easy to do too much and then feel it later...I've done that many times!

I am alive and well! They removed the cyst which WAS an endometrial cyst and they did find some endometrial tissue that they cleaned out.

Surgery took about 1 1/2hrs and my surgeon said it went awesome. I was able to keep both ovaries and now we will discuss how to keep ky endometriosis in check. The surgeon was awesome and called my parents 20 minutes into to surgery to let them know the cyst WAS benign like we thought and everything looked good.

I am currently drugged up on the couch .

Justine

Glad to hear all went well!

I had surgery for endometriosis when I was 23 or 24 (1991 or 92, I believe). The doctor was shocked once he got in there and saw how bad it was...couldn't believe that I hadn't been in horrible pain. I guess I had probably always had it and just thought the pain I felt was normal. I remember being astounded after I healed from the surgery that it didn't hurt my insides when I sat down...there had always been pain before that, but I didn't know any better until it was gone.

I hope you heal quickly and are able to keep the endometriosis under control.
