Question Pretty Darn OT: Barefoot?

Guys, how many of you usually wear shoes outside? I hardly EVER wear shoes. Almost never. I even go out to feed the goats with no shoes. Calluses (don't make fun, I don't know how to spell, I get it! LOL) are about 1/2 an inch thick. Haha. I run on gravel and walk on the wood chips. I also tend to step right in that one fresh pile of chicken poop.

Just wondering. PROOF PIC NEEDED! Lol

I used to run around barefoot until my foot got shish-ka-bobed with a piece of deck wood 1/4" thick and 4" long.
3 trips to the doc to get foot numbed and wood dug out. Lydocaine injections on the bottom of the foot are not fun....believe me!

Wood was still coming out a year later. That was in 2006. Now I always wear shoes.

I have gotten lots of things jabbed in my foot, including stepping on baby evergreens regularly, but not that! *knock on wood*

I went barefoot all the time until I developed a bee allergy... Now I have to be much more careful of what I step on. So most of the time I snag a pair of flip flops as I start out.

I consider myself a Hobbit and it's just something people around me have to accept. I wear only flip flops or nothing. Uhhh I will have to get used to wearing boots again around the horses, I am tempting fate working with them in flip flops... I am going to end up regretting it if I continue.

But yes, even in Florida with the wealth of insects I go barefoot almost all the time.

I'm pretty much there with you. It's barefeet or flip flops here. (Of course not including when it gets really cold) My mom has been nagging me to wear shoes since I was 5 years old. I've stepped on thistles, and bees, but it hasn't stopped me yet. Shoes are just so...hot and confining!

My wife hates me going out and walking back in with chicken poop on my feet. I used to always go barefoot. I just did a few minutes ago when I went out to the barn. I do keep a barn boots by the door though.

We have spiney pigweed, thistles and a ton of other thorny and hellish plants, so I cannot go barefoot. But I usually am barefoot for the front yard and critter yard, since they grass is just grass and not needles and when I was a kid, mom kept the lawn real perfect.
I wear sandals for everything, horses, livestock, rain and so on.

LOL Min, I have called myself that many times.

Haha. That wasn't really a set up. I had by gun out shooting while my dog was out. My hair looks DE-SGUSTING because I just got done swimming. It was nice out, so I lie down under a tree with my gun.. and then I told someone, "Hey, take this pic!". LOL

People get hookworm in the south walking barefoot. Chiggers only last a few days, hookworms are forever....or at least till the doc doses you with some de-wormer.

Your hair looks great! Your toes do look a little long though...

Never barefooted here! I even wear house shoes when in the house and they are the last thing off before bed and first thing on when I get up in the morning and or get out of the shower. I know I'm weird: indif:
and my kitchen floor is clean enough to eat off of its not that my floor is dirty or something. Never wore a pair of flip flops in my life, and ain't gonna. In fact I don't wear any kind of shoe that has a thingy going in between my toe's. Weird I know. Its just one of my many pet peeves. I just have to have shoes on, period.

I don't go outside barefoot. Too much could go wrong around here. I got a great deal on a pair of Bogs, size 11
