Berta has continued to amaze us...

For a goat who was almost dead, she has made a lovely recovery so far. She is drinking water on her own, holding her head higher and has started to eat on her own. She is still weak and uncoordinated so she can't chew large leaves, or pull leaves off on her own, but she gobbles what I pick for her. From what I can tell she is blind, but navigates well with sound. I do hope she regains some vision but time will tell on that. She is talking again...Wonderful to hear her little voice again.

I have to admit to feeling a little overwhelmed at caring for her though. I've been giving shots at 8, 2, and 8. But she is currently at my parents so that is a 15 minute trip (one way) twice a day, and my husband works second shift and gets off at 2 am! I cannot wait until the weekend to get more than just a few hours sleep at a time.

Great news on Berta, Sounds like she's doing really well. Hang in there Polio &/or listeriosis takes some time to get over & her eye sight may very well still come back.
