AC won't hurt them especially at the normal inclusion rate of .5%. It is an acidifier so for diaries recieving high amounts of grain, it *may* make them more prone to acidosis, but I'm not *sure* of this. Be sure to offer baking soda.
You don't have to feed a 'goat chow' by the way. You can always mix your own. IN the past I've done oats, corn, black oil sunflower seed, calf-manna, shredded beat pulp etc etc as a feed mix, all purchased and mixed as needed by hand. Currently we do the mills' 'goat feed' which is oats, corn, dairy pellet (soybean meal pellet), vit E/Se supplement, and a dash of molasses.
