Time to give cooper?

We are pretty new to goats and I've not had to give any of the goats cooper yet. One of out doe's coat is looking kind of rough and "wirey" for lack of a better term. She has free access to Manna Pro minerals and is also pregnant.

How do you know when to bolus them? How often? Can you do it when they are pregnant?

Thanks!

From your description of her coat, I'd say, "Yes, it's time for copper." And, yes, you absolutely *can* give a copper bolus to a pregnant doe. For your own satisfaction/education, I'd suggest you get a pic of her now, and one a week or 2 after bolusing. Then you can post the "before" and "after" pics for us to see, too! I bolus mine at least 2X a year, or when needed.

I'd get Replamin Plus. It's had more positive effect on coat condition than anything else I've used.

5 cc. It's easy! Once a week.

It comes in a tube that delivers measured doses.

If you purchase the 80cc tube it is metered...the 300cc tube requires the dosing gun.
Price wise, if you only have a couple of goats, the smaller might be economical...any larger number of goats the value is in the larger tube.

I bought both sizes and refill the smaller one from the big one.

I use a wooden spoon to push out the needed amount into a drench gun. I squirt out enough for the herd as opposed to doing single doses over and over again.
