Through the fence breeding??

I am wondering if Jack or Rocco (both in full-blown, blubbering, pee-stained rut) have managed to nail Fudge and/or Cleo through the fence. I hope not, because they are just too young yet. One evening recently I noticed (at risk of being indelicate) a bead of white moisture on Fudge's vulva, looking like nothing other than a pearl bead. Could it have been mucus from a heat cycle, or freshly deposited evidence left by a randy, creative buck? I know you goat breeder experts will have an idea, because I really don't want these Nubians to be bred at just 4-5 months old.

Wait a month, then blood test via biotracking.

It's entirely possible. I wonder that more goats aren't named "Cyclone" or "Chainlink."

Of course, the mucus you saw could also be doe-generated, but to be safe, I'd follow Alice's wise advice and blood test a month and a day after the suspected breeding.

I have a chain link fence tied onto my cattle panels where my rams are pastured, then I can flush and "ram effect" the ewes safely along fence line because of the chain link added on. You can find chain link fence from people ridding of old fence (should be free, can't scrap it, ask scrap yard in leaving your name and # for wanted chain link fence. ~Chris

It is entirely possible. A few years ago I had a beautiful set of twin girls from my Nubian Gwendolyn and my Angora Buck Samson. Samson was too heavy to jump the fence but Gwen got into my buffer pasture and teased the heck out of him. 5 months later, really curly, long eared baby girls.

Yes, they can have white just from a heat cycle.

It was probably just her own mucous.

Ok, this might be gross, but here goes. I would think it would be more likely with experienced does. If the "pearl bead" is all there was and the vulva wasn't extra pink and puffy and the hair around the rear end is dry, I would think its just from heat. But, that said, if they are in heat young doelings will be more likely to go along with "you want me to do what?" and flying sperm may ensue
