Diagnose this one

Got a 5 month old Nubian doe. Just developed some scours today. Eating great. Nothing looks wrong with her. Looks perfectly healthy except for scouring. I gave prohibit and copper bolus on the 25th of August and Cydectin on the 27th. She's been doing great. She gets a little grain twice a day. Has browse and Bermuda hay at will. Also, has baking soda and Right Now Onyx anytime she wants. Eyelids look darker pink than most I have. Suggestions? Leave her alone and see what happens? I just gave her 5 gm ProBios gel. Im thinking about a dose of Toltrazuril.

Well. That didn't get written down but I think it was the same day as the prohibit. That's when I brought her home.

Or we didn't do it at all. We've been trying to remember. My wife had it all in her phone and hadn't wrote everything down yet. We lost some records.

I do cocci prevention at 3 weeks, 6 & 9 weeks of age for 5 days every 3 weeks.
I'd start her on coccidiosis treatment instead of the dosages for prevention. Di-Methox 40% is what I use here & works great.

She's 5 months old. You do cocci prevention every 3 weeks until how old?

I gave her a dose of Toltrazuril just in case.

Some folks here I've read do it every 3 weeks until they are 5 months old. I only do it for 3 treatments every 3 weeks for 5 days each. I've always had good results & never had a goat actually have an outbreak of coccidiosis.

It's like it never happened today. She's got a dry rear end. I think I will still get a fecal done just to be sure.

This hot muggy weather is ideal cocci growing weather.

Toltrazuril is a one time dose, 1cc per 5lbs. I give it once at 4 weeks of age. Some people give it every 3 weeks. SHAKE WELL, it does settle!

Dimethox 40% is 1cc per 5lbs day 1, 1cc per 10lbs days 2-5. Give every 3 weeks starting at 3 weeks old.

You can mix them in milk to feed in the bottle. Dimethox is the nastiest flavored concoction on this planet, so once you're giving big doses to older kids they WILL stop drinking the milk. Then you get to catch them to try to squirt large amounts of horrible tasting, expensive fluid down their throats (lots will be spit out!) every day for 5 days in a row every 3 weeks (ew).

I do toltrazuril. It does NOT taste bad. I can do it in a weekend and my dad doesn't have to catch the dam raised kids for 5 days in a row every 3 weeks. (yeah, right). For bottle kids, you can put it right in the milk. The only downside is that the bottle is really hard to get the doses out of once it's below your syringe level.

Agreed about the doses below the syringe level. I pour it in a spoon and suck it into the syringe.
