Adapt milking pipeline system for few animals?

Hi folks, I'm setting up a sheep and goat dairy and will start with only 4 animals milking -- building up to a max of 40-60. I was thinking I'd buy a couple of bucket milkers and a 1 hp portable pump.

But I have a line now on a 5 hp pump system from a dairy parlor.

Question: can I use a vacuum pump that strong with bucket milkers?

Thanks!

You should be able to. You should have a regulator valve that sets your HG pressure at the tank.

I'm pretty sure you can. Vacuum is controlled by your regulator. I imagine a stall cock can be installed and the bucket milker used w/o issue. Talk to some local dairy guys, they'd know. My neighbors use a bucket for treated animals and IIRC it was run off the pipe line supply.
