Feeding a 3 month old kid...?

Hi all...
just wondering if anyone could advise....
How much grain (or combination of sweet feed, oats & BOSS) should be given to a three + month old doeling that also is still receiving two 16oz bottles per day?

Currently I've been giving my lil girl about 1/3 of a cup of the above mix 2x per day just before she gets her bottle ( she gets the grain while I'm milking her mom)

She's growing so fast...I just wouldn't want to be over feeding!!

Well, my 3 month olds are getting free choice grain and alfalfa pellets, hay, and 20oz milk 3x per day. The grain/alfalfa pellets are mixed together, 1 part alfalfa pellets, 2 parts grain. Our grain mix is soybean pellet, corn, oats, molasses, Vit E/Se supplement. We also free choice minerals and baking soda.

Older kids come in the milkroom during milking time 1 or 2x per day. They sit at their pan and eat while I milk, then are shooed out with the does. About 20 mins. Same mix as the younger kids. They usually pick around the alfalfa pellets.

Thanks !!...
My little girl also picks around the alfalfa pellets....
She was on 3x per day both grain and milk but last week I dropped her down to 2x....and she seems to be out a lot more during the days now browsing in the field....

Since I only have the momma and the daughter, and they are together all day, I don't think I can leave grain out for her free choice...Momma would never let her have a morsel!

any hoo...
THX for the info!!!!

I have a few 3 + months old too & they each get 1/2 cup a.m. & p.m.
Mine too are in with the adult does' so I couldn't do free feeding of grain with my set up either.

Are you planning to breed her to kid the first time as a yearling or 2 year old?

I feed free-choice good quality alfalfa hay at night , pasture during the day to older near weaning or weaned kids. Younger kids are in drylot with alfalfa free-choice. I have usually started offering grain from a very young age, but my kids usually don't really care for it, so I'm going to start now just offering them when they are close to weaning age, probably starting about 3 months (I wean at 4 months). The Nigerians don't need grain at all-they are little fattys. I just feed the grain once a day right now, about 1/2-3/4 lb per kid.
