Kidding Dates!!!

I just annotated the first of the 2014 kidding dates on my calendar - Jan 12th & Jan 14th. Whoo Hoo! Theses kids (does AND bucks!) will be registered MDGA, Gen 2s. I'm looking forward to the upcoming babies!

Can you please explain to me what organization is MDGA. American Dairy Goat is ADG correct?

Actually, Nehimama, perhaps you can advise me.

I have two F1 doelings, will be 6 months next month. The new ND buck is the same size as they are now. I have a home for at least two of those babies now if I do breed. Would you suggest I breed them this year to him. Or let them go another year and breed to another F1. I was just thinking if their first kidding was a smaller baby, it would be safer the next time around, but they are also still so young.....

I'm not an expert by any means, but if those doelings were mine, I'd wait 'til Nov ~ Dec to breed them, and I'd use an F1 buck. But that's just my opinion. Others may disagree, or do differently.

MDGA = Miniature Dairy Goat Association.
ADGA = American Dairy Goat Association.
TMGR = The Miniature Goat Registry.
IDGR = International Dairy Goat Registry.
I register with MDGA, TMGR, and IDGR.

Thanks for the explanation. I can see that raising register goats is going to be as interesting as trying to decide which organization accepts what. Like dogs or horses.

Looks like I have more sites to study and bookmark. lol
