Ok brand goat fence

I am planning on building around 1000' of fence primarily for goats and horses. The fence will be used as a "perimeter" fence and we will use electric net fence for rotational grazing.
My plan is to use 2 7/8" well casing pipe for braces and every 40' as line posts, the rest of the line posts will be t-posts.
The fence will be 48" 4x4 sheep and goat with a smooth wire on top, and then a high tensil electric wire on the very top. The fence will have a 5' finished hieght.

Does anyone on here have experiance using OK Brand sheep and goat fence?

I have never used ok brand fence but I would put an electric fence wire about 12 inces from the ground on the inside. The goats will rub on the fence causing it to stretch and get loose. The electric wire inside will keep them off of it allowing the fence to last longer

Thanks for the response Shadoweng, I have been thinking about a run of electric tape on the inside. A foot up seems like it would be good for dogs, and pigs too. Although, what about grass shorting the fence? Will goats graze under the hot wire?

I use a wire as Shadoweng suggested and as far as goats grazing under it, they do...very carefully. They quickly learn what the wire represents.

Yes, grass and weeds will weaken or short your current and you have two choices.
If you are a chemical kind of person you can spray the line with weed killer and eliminate any growth or, as I do, walk your fence line and weed wack the growth to keep it from touching the wire.

We have used over 1000' of OK & Red brand. It is good fencing and we have had no issues. It's been up for 2 years.
