We dove in Head First.

Well. We bought a few goats. Then we bought a few more. Then we saw an ad on craiglist. I talked to Susie about them. I researched online about them. I texted the lady at 9:37 Saturday night and said I would take them. She texted me 30 minutes later and said someone had just called wanting them. She said she would wait for me but wanted cash. I went to the bank and withdrew all my bank would allow. Then went before church and got the rest. I had a little trepidation still about the whole thing. I was thinking. Wow. That's a lot for a goat. By the time I drove there after church Sunday, she said she had 4 buyers waiting for them. After I saw them, I was "WOW" they sure are pretty. Another part to the story. It was 2 1/2 hrs one way. I had a blowout on the trailer about 2 miles from the Harrison Wal mart. I limped in and the guy couldn't sell me the size I needed because it was against policy to mount it on the trailer so he loaned me the floor jack and 4 way. I took it off. Wal mart mounted the tire. I put it on. Did I mention, I always say a prayer before any trip like that. God sure was looking out for us. Now. The pics.

yippeee.. glad you got them home safe and sound.. (I really think this is the better start on the way to a NICE herd of nubians).... we one time took a teeny little modified trailer to southern TN for a pregnant dexter/jersey cross.. we blew a tire in a not so nice part of nashville...we limped into a mexican buther's parking lot... I refused to leave my cow (for fear of someone cutting her up and putting her into white packages LOL).. so Ed unhooked the trailer.. took the tire and left to find a new one... I sat on a milk carton with the dog (who I was thankful I brought along for the ride!) AND one very angry, hormone driven cow.. who tried to gore me everytime I talked to her ..... BUT.. we finally got the tire, got it on and limped it home..

congrats on the new herd...

The spotted doe was accidentally bred as a yearling and had twins. These are her kids. I wanted them too. This was her bag at 14 months.

Gosh, I wish I could. She wont sell those. She only sold these because of something that happened with some cows and they were getting a bunch of milk cows all of a sudden that are all due to calve. I didn't listen close enough to the story.

Wowee! We wanted Nubians when we got started a few years ago. 6 months of searching within a few hours drive had only turned up some pretty sad looking does. Wish we had ones like that around back then! Beautiful.
