Gettin Goats

Ok after asking tons of questions on here I have found a breeder of purebred Nubians. I researched his herd and asked tons of questions on site while playing with his goats. Feel great about the herd and the family selling. My question is what the heck do I do now. Haha. I have the mini barn up, working on fencing this weekend. What should I get on hand. We plan to milk. I know about some things, like I said I have been doing tons of research. What medicines should I have on hand? Any advise for a neebie would be great. Thanks.

I use an 8 qt stock pot with split rings zip tied to the handles as my milking bucket. Works great. And, since I got it at the dollar store, it cost me like 8.00. I then use a piece of rope with dog leash snaps at both ends as a handle, which I attach to the split rings. Then I can remove the handle after milking. I didn't feel the need to spend 40.00 or so on a stainless steel bucket, blegh.

I did buy a mini filter, and filter disks. I suggest using them and not going cheap on it.

You'll want quart and half gallon jars for storing milk in.

As for equipment, I keep forgetting to do an inventory of what I keep on hand. Most of it you probably won't need, but a lot of it I've found handy through the years.
