UPDATE #12 I think I found my mini-saanen!

Talk about timing! I got an email back from a woman last night who has a second generation mini-saanen for sale. She's a 25 hour drive from here, but her friend is heading this way soon and might be able to transport within 6.5-7 hours of my place!

She will test for CAE/CL before the animal comes. Doeling was born on 4-20 of this year. She won 3rd out of 20 at 4-H fair, her sister was reserve, and her dam took grand champion last year.

It seems like she's everything on my wish list....all white, blue eyes, and disbudded. Now I just have to wait to see if the breeder's friend can transport. Fingers crossed!

The only thing holding me back now is for her friend to say yes to transporting.

Some more info:

MDGA registered.

The doeling has been shown twice already. She took 3rd out of 20 in one show and reserve in the other. Her dam was grand champion last year for minis. Her great, great dam is a full champion (won 4 legs).

We have never shown before but might consider it with this doeling. From the picture, her back looks very correct. What do you guys think? Shoot, I am pretty new at owning goats and really just wanted a mini-saanen as a family milker. But I did want a registered one so we can sell the offspring easier. Given that we are in relatively urban area (1.5 acres in the city), I wanted a Saanen for milk production and thought a mini would be great due to its' smaller size and potential added creaminess of milk from the Nigerian side.
