Nubian breeder Western NY

Hi,
I don't have goats but would like a Nubian. Can anyone recommend a breeder in western Ny anywhere from buffalo to the Southern Tier, would like a breeder that tests as I have sheep here and don't need CL or foot rot or....
Looking for a younger animal with her kid that is in milk.
Any advice welcome,

Thanks
Carol K

Hi Carol, I'm Stacy.
A friend of mine has LM and Nubians. Her name is Liz, her farm is Teacup Farm in Barker.

She also raises cows, and feeds the kids the cow milk - thats her CAE prevention.

She is selling some now I believe.

Good luck

I spoke with Liz, she has none available. She's getting me the name of another breeder, no one is in milk now though.

Thanks you. It seems hard to find tested dairy goats for sale, is there a reason why? Not being a goat person just trying to understand why that is.

Most people around here either know nothing of it, feel its something they can't stop and/or its not a big deal anyhow, so they don't bother.
I went to pick up a registered, beautiful, tri colored ND buckling from a local guy. He picked him up and calmly commented something to the effect of 'oh, hes got a lump. Let me lance that for you'. YIKES. I was outta there! He said he has gotten rid of his entire herd twice trying to get rid of it, but its a waste of money, so he just lances them when he finds it. It's in the soil! No wonder he can't get rid of it.

The lady I sent you to does test.
By the way, TeaCup can be trusted, ask me before you go to another registered dairy. I'm not gunna name who, but I know they have CAE. Have the sale papers written up that you receive a full refund if the goat tests positive. Good luck!
