Name question

How did you come up with a name for your place? I've been trying to come up with a name for my place.

When I moved here there was/is a brook that runs along the front of my property. I planted several willow trees along the bank.

Willowbrook was born.

Well, we haven't quite figured ours out, but we're working on it. We have two cranky guard llamas, so so far we're thinking something along the lines of Two Llama Farm, Cranky Llama farm... Who knows? Think of something unique about your farm and go off that.

Blu, I love alliteration what about Cranky Camelids or Camelid's Curse... you could do a pirate theme off that too, lol.

Mine is based upon where my home is. I live down in the Cove, which is a backwoods area in Meriwether Co. Georgia where even the sheriff fears to tread. The most significant geographical feature in the area is that the Cove, if you look at a satellite or topographical map is actually an impact crater. I have heard that pilots in Atlanta actually use it as a navigational landmark 'the crater'. And then comes my liking for alliteration, Crater Cove Caprines.

Naming is fun.
Backfourty,MI. and Ford Zoo like this.

I'm an English teacher; DH is an English major and writing consultant. We both love literature, classic and contemporary. All of our goats are named after authors that we like. We wanted to find a literary reference for our place, but references to goats aren't plentiful in literature that we've read. The only thing we could come up with was "The Three Billy Goats Gruff." Hence, Troll's Bane Farm was born.

Bee thinking about what was said and came up with a name. I live on a hill and we have a lot of locust trees on our place. So I'm thinking of Locust Hill Farm for a name.

Locust Hill sounds like a tranquil place to me. I like it! Before we bought our place, our family of four had endured some tough times and overcame them. I have always been in love with oak trees, and since we had 4 of them in the new yard, I decided on 'Four Oaks Farm'. The family never took to that, but we live on the Clam River, So 'Clam River Goats' it is. Heck, I since found out that Jerrod Washburn of the Seattle Mariners grew up here and now has 'Clam River Whitetails' just down the river. Oh well, my goats taste better than venison

Our farm name is Youmans Acres, not very imaginative since our last name is Youmans but our herd name for our goats is Udderly Precious. Just was thinking of something we liked for our dairy goats.

LearningLife "Billy Goats Gruff" was one of my favorites as a little kid.

We came up with our farm name cause I had worked & bought stock in the company, cashed it out & invested in Boer goats, hence Laughing Stock.
This was YEARS before Laughing Cow or any others.
