Andis "F Skip Tooth" blade...

Anyone use this to clip your "coarse-haired" goats? What has been your experience with it?

Learning about ALL the different blades, and there are a lot of them, is daunting to say the least.

I've read the skip tooth blades can be dangerous cause it's easy to get a fold of skin.

I ended up using a 40 blades and clip on combs for the different lengths I might want. Has worked pretty well...but then I am not after a show quality cut, just want to get that length down.

Have 2 blades that I rotate thru out the clip session, spraying with a cooling lube when they get hot. They don't cut as well when hot I've found. And, as you've heard me say before, I never cut a dirty dog....trashes the blades right quick.

I am a Master Pet Stylist with 29 years of experience grooming dogs and cats. I would recommend a 7F blade rather than a skip tooth, as they are safer for those not used to clipping. I use a 10 blade on my girls udder, but have not done any body clipping. I'd be happy to answer any blade questions you might have.
