When to breed?

Last fall my new goats were all 3+years old. I didn't have to think about it. But now I have new doelings born this month and just realized... I don't know how young they can be bred, and whether it depends on the breed...

I have 100% NDs, 100% lamancha, and 50% pygmy/50% ND.

Full size goats need to be about 80 pounds. They can be bred about four months before their first birthday.

Mini-goats need a bit more time to mature.

Get any bucklings OUT of the same pasture with female kids by the time the bucklings are eight weeks old. They can start getting fertile soon after that.
