Box springs repurpose

Yay for recycling! Look what I did with the welded wire panel that came out of our old box springs mattress frame. It made a pretty nifty gate using some heavy duty staples to secure it to the house and two carabiners to keep it closed. Now we can use the back yard and my kids can use their playhouse without goats joining the picnic.

They ate the plastic off their hoop house so the two dog crates as shelter are temporary until I can do something else for them. Do you think they would eat a tarp?

I had a goat that would rub her scur on the hoop house tarp until she put a little hole in it then would tear long strips from it. I'm going to look for billboard signs because I heard they're stronger.

Kudos on the gate. I like your manger too.

They will eat tarps and stomp them and pull the ropes and chew on those. The billboard tarps do last longer. Mine has lasted over two yrs, but I'll likely have to replace it soon. Nothing lasts long in the Texas sun.

KSL usually has them but they're in the Salt Lake area.

I think if you call a local billboard company they will sell them to you. I just emailed one of our local companies will let you know what I find out, I had been thinking of doing this and this thread prompted me to act.

Hmmmm on the wire panel from inside a box spring.....how'd you get it out of the box spring? Makes me want to take one apart!

I've been wanting some tarps too, we are running out of room in the barn for hay storage. Here's another place that sells them: http://www.billboardtarps.com/pages/shipping

I cut the fabric off the top and bottom and popped all the springs loose, they were just stapled on.

The hubbalicious said he is going to build something out of wood for me so I'll probably use my extra cattle panel for something else.
