new kid and questions

Just had a new kid and have a questions...

How long should it take for the kid to begin first feeding?

Generally withing a short time after delivery. Most are still wet, get on their feet and start searching for a teat. I typically help them out the first time and make sure they get colostrum. Unless there are underlying issues they typically feed within 15-20 minutes after birth, I want s much colostrum in them in the first hour as they can handle.
