Smile had a very productive day. :)

talked to my mother yesterday. we fenced in the 1 3/4 acres for the goats and calves for now. my mother is fencing in the other +/- 10 acres with one strand and thats where all calves/cows/horse will be. her cow is being butchered this fall and she is moving in the fall but keeping her property. she is moving in with her bf, but considering he is much much older than her, she is keeping the acreage and her house for when he dies. her horse will go with her.

all the goats did good with the electric 4-strand. skywalker had to learn the hard way a couple times, but he understands now. and much to their pleasure, a very large cedar tree has fallen into their pasture. the calves are scared of the goats and the goats are scared of the calves. when my mom finishes her fence the calves will go over there.
also, hoof trimming got done on the milkstand. these girls are a DREAM to trim. i could have kissed them afterwards. i only wish i would've remembered to waer my leather gloves. my thumb is not happy.

hope everyone else had a good day. i will post pics tomorrow at work.
aart and quiltstuff like this.

For some reason everytime I tried to get a picture of skywalker he ran back into the shed. :/ Aside from skywalker being camera shy. Demi now thinks she is a cat and likes to rub up on our legs. The ground is a little mucky right now, but the cattails are starting their shoots so, the muck will be clear in a week. Everyone will get dewormed shortly. Do yall deworm on a preventative basis? Or just when wormloads are high?
And the ACTUAL kitty is wolfie, acting like the cat that just got the cream (pun intended). She is a little handicapped. She has front legs that are alot shorter than her hind legs and they are knock-kneed. But she is somewhere between 7 and 9 years old and is a wonderful kitty.

Lovely goats! Your kitty looks like my Lola.
Could I ask you a couple questions about your fence?

That calf looking at the goat is a darling pic. I bet the goats are loving the freedom!
