Have a question about registeration

I am looking into a LaMancha buckling. Both parents are registered through IDGR, not ADGA. Am I able to register the buckling through ADGA? I didn't see it on the website so I am asking ahead of time to make sure I can actually register this boy through them.
Thank you for any help.

Youn *might* *should* be able to. Be sure to send a photocopy of the IDGR reg certificate, along with the application.

I transferred my new herdsire I bought last summer from IDGR to MDGA but I had to get copies of 5 generations back on the bucklings dam & sire's side & send them photo copies. Then I just had to pay the transfer & registration fee for MDGA.

This was for a little 5th gen. Mini nubian buckling though so I don't know if that makes a difference. Also different registries probably require different things maybe?

I would call & ask the registrar at ADGA, I'm sure they will be very helpful.

ADGA only recognizes AGS/CGS (American Goat Society)(Canadian Goat Society) registration papers. You can record a doe as NOA(Native on Appearance) but she will be recorded grade with ADGA.
yarrow and JBarGFarmKeeper like this.

IDGR does not keep the same standards of American and Purebred as ADGA. I would stay far away from them.

I think this is exactly why MDGA wanted 5 generation's of paperwork on each side when I transferred my little buckling. Thank goodness the granddam & grandsire, etc. before the dam & sire had all been registered with MDGA so that helped.

Yeah, sounds like a BIG pain in the hiney. Think I will just keep looking. I want pure manchies on my farm. And at first one I wanted she told me was American, then I explained that I didn't want to do the American because a lot of the buyers around here don't want to have American. Then she says she has a registerable buckling, so I figure well I will get him, then find out he is registerable through the IDGR not ADGA. So, back to the drawing board.
Any one close to Southern Illinois going to have any mancha bucklings late this spring being weaned? LOL
Thank you all, once again you have proven that you have the answers to the questions I have. Thank you.

With LaManchas it doesn't matter if you start off with American or Purebred because they have an open herd book. It only takes a few generations to go from American to Purebred with LaManchas.
