Mineral formula mixing?
I need help from those of you who are formula savvy.
I am in need of a mineral that is higher in copper and selenium. I found one locally, but the calcium hos ratio is not 2:1 (Ca min/max is 11/15%, phos is 9%). Can I add extra calcium to the mix to bring the ratio to 2:1 for feeding to bucks and wethers?
If the min/max Calcium content is listed as 11-15%, does that mean that it contains 11-15% Ca by volume? As in 11-15 pounds of Ca per 100# of mineral mix? If so, I'm assuming I could then add 3-7#'s of Ca to 100# of mineral to balance it out to the 2:1 ratio?
Or am I way off here?
