Never had that happen before

Ruthie kidded an hour or so ago.. super quick, super easy.. twin bucklings (BIG boys).. nice looking.. both brown with wide white belts.. one is even moon spotted.. I was happy for such an easy birth (Ruthie hardly pushed.. they just sort of fell out LOL).. I was a little bummed since I was hoping for a black & white spotted kid for ME!! (still have buck buyers, so that part is fine).. I reached in and did a good feel around before we came inside.. I told Jess I feel another bubble, but don't feel anything in it.. Kept watching her on the cameras.. she had bubbles hanging, but nothing major.. Came in to the computer to see where the tornado that is on the ground in AR. is headed (should miss us, not by much.. but miss us!) Being from Oklahoma and use to tornado damage up close and personal.. Jess started getting bug out bags ready.. she went into my bathroom to get bandaids.. The door was open to let in some fresh air.. she HEARD something.. high pitch and sceechie.. ran outside.. there in the pen was the TINIEST little doeling I've ever seen.. All dried off, tucked down in the hay..warm and cozy.. She is a wee thing.. but perfect.. Took her bottle like a champ.. She is also BLACK & WHITE... covered in spots... too darn cute for words... CAN'T believe I MISSED HER!!! Ruthie is however a BIG, Very DEEP, very FAT gal. and this is a teeny tiny girl.. about 1/4 of the size of her brothers... guess they got all the grow juice LOL.. Just so happy Jess heard her.. (she was in the one spot that I would NOT have seen, even when I went back in to see if Ruthie had passed her after births.. NO way was this little thing getting on her feet in all that hay and nursing.. we also have the storm and cold coming..we would have found her dead later tonight, I'm sure.. I'm sort of in shock LOL.. happy shock, but still freaked that I totally missed her in the cavernous abyss of Ruthie's womb (pictures after the storm passes)..

Now, I only have bucklings (as pets, who will be wethered when old enough), but all these threads on kidding issues this year have made me realize I NEVER want to go through that. :-) I've read several posts saying this has been an awful/weird kidding season. Hope everyone has better luck next season.

That being said! CONGRATS! How exciting. Glad you found her in time. And I agree....pics, please?!?

Most of us had mostly boring, easy kiddings. No need to not have goats because everybody reports the unusual.

I never said I wouldn't have goats. I said I would never BREED goats. I have 3 bucklings right now. But I never had the interest in breeding them anyway. And the horror stories are enough to deter me, no matter how infrequent. I couldn't imagine going through some of this stuff. I give ya'll credit, that's for sure. I do not envy some of your stories.

What a nice lil surprise eh Susie?
Couple months ago one gave twins. She usually has trips or quads.
So I checked & couldnt feel anything.
This was about 5pm.
At 8pm feeding everthing was fine & dandy.
At 8am went in there & lo & behold, Hotel had # 3 all cleaned & dry.

I do not want to redirect this thread, but as someone who seem to be having more than their share of kidding pains lately, it is just part of it I guess. And the joys (and milk supply) do out weigh the great pain and sorrows.

Congratulations on easy kidding "with a bonus" LOL.

When one is born this small (quarter of the size of mates), do they usually grow fast and catch up as long as they are getting their share of the milk?
I do realize she is getting a bottle at this time.

Love the little ones!! I had one last year and another this year..They are absolutely the sweetest!! So cute to see them with the "big kids" trying to keep up. Love the high pitched scream as they bring up the rear of the stampede....."Guys wait for me!!".

I kept last years as a wether buck buddy, Curly (was trips named larry ,mo and curly ) is my big spoiled rotten "puppy dog".

as long as there isn't somethong actually wrong with the little ones...they catch up eventually...by adulthood, you would never guess how much smaller they started life.

this little one isn' really walking yet...but he can get up on her own and toddle around..also taking her milk via a full sized nipple...my last wee one couldn't stand for 3 days..needed tubing for the first couple days...by the end of that first month...she was just another one of the doeling gang...kidded with triplets right around her first birthday...hoping this little one does just as well
