Polio After Effects???

One of my babies had a seizure 10 days ago. I took the milk bucket out and she was eating just fine. She stopped, staggered into the shed, circled, and then fell to the ground with a seizure. Luckily I've been an avid reader of a certain forum so my immediate thought was goat polio. Within 5 minutes she had B complex, bo-se, pen-g, probios, and vit c in her. She had no fever but her right eye wouldn't focus and track. I was freaking out about a possible stroke. She started doing better but just laid there for a day. She would eat and stuff but she just didn't seem coordinated. I kept up the B complex and pen-g regimen. I took her to the vets the next day and he declared her okay and told me to just give her time to bounce back.

She has seemed a little slow on the uptake since it happened. She doesn't do a good job of staying with the herd and doesn't have the startle reflex that the other babies do. She would also be out in the field when I' bring the milk bucket out and wouldn't come when I called like the other babies did. I thought that she was retarded from the seizure. Then I realized yesterday that she can't hear a lick.

Has anyone else had this happen? What is the prognosis for a deaf goat? Have you heard of this reversing? Could this be a temporary polio after effect? I worry that she may be an easy target for predators. Plus, I only get to keep one baby and I wanted a different one. Who would want a deaf goat? She is healthy and strong and is suffering no other ill effects from the seizure. She plays normally, runs around normally, poops normally, the whole nine yards. I think I caught it early.

Any ideas? Hints? Suggestions?

From what you have posted, I think your first diagnosis of a brain event is likely. She needs to be used for barbecue.

Or you can bring her up like Donna1981 (I think that's the number) is with Dopey. He is mentally challenged. I think deaf is easier than blind. And maybe you can get a disabled placard for your truck out of the deal to get rockstar parking (just kidding!!!!)
I would put it out there...someone like me would latch right onto helping the baby out. I would take her in a heart beat but I have Johnes disease here and can't take anyone new without risking them getting it

I read up on the polio and listeriosis and it said they can go blind and deaf while they're having the problems. I was kind of hoping that it could reverse. She's normal now other than the deafness. Her mother is milking almost a gallon a day as a ff. She probably would've made a great milk goat. What a bummer.

Donna has a blind goat? Or just mentally challenged? I haven't read back that far. I can see her taking something like that on. She's a sweetie.
