Baby goat names
Anyone want to help me with naming these two bucklings? I'm TERRIBLE at picking names, I can't think of anything!
The sire is Irish Whisper Fancy Gilligan (please, no Skipper or Mr Howell )
The dam is Modonna Lily but called Dawn

I like "theme" names.
The first time that I had my Lamancha doe bred, she had a single doeling. Since mom's name starts with a 'Z,' I named the baby a 'Z' name as well - "Zoey." And the boar baby I bought to raise with Zoey also got a 'Z' name - "Zeus."
Last year, I went with 'A' names - "Aspen" and "Artemis."
This year, I will go with 'B' names; I'm hoping to also have them be plant names, although I'm not sure about that - I'm kind of drawing blanks on plants that start with 'b.' There's "Blueberry," but we already have a cat named "Blackberry" (because we found him last summer as a tiny kitten in the blackberries next to the highway) and that might get confusing. I had a Toggenburg doe named "Buttercup" (long gone now), so I don't really want to repeat that.
Anyway, you could go with some kind of theme, as well - maybe two characters from a favorite book. For me, it might be something such as "James" and "Tristan" (from the "All Creatures Great and Small" series). Or "Jem" and "Scout" from "To Kill a Mockingbird" (I know - Scout was a girl, but it could work for a boy, too - I have a female Border collie named Scout).
Beautiful babies, by the way. Are you going to keep them?

I'd help but the majority of my babies are named Jem01, Jem02, Jem03 etc. Mom's name and birth order.

we name by year, this year being Q. the doeling I was going to keep but am now selling would've been Quinn. makes it really easy to remember or look up what year they were born, and its kinda fun to think of or find names with only one letter.

1 if its a girl her name kinda follows the Dame like my Pawnee had twin girls so they are Cherokee and Cheyenne, but if its a boy then the name sorta themes with the Sire.
I think you should call em ...

I like Jacob and Esau, for one they are furry little babes, and at the same time you get to share a story with someone who may not be familiar with it.

Pick themes for each nanny and stick with them. That way you will never be standing there thinking, "now which nanny did this one come from?"
Since Mama's name is Lily, I would go with flowers. It's hard to find male names in the floral family, but I 'm sure you can. Chrysanthemum and Hibiscus....Dandylion and Clover... Pistis and Stamin???? You get the idea.
