Here are my new additions

this is Captain, my new buckling. He was having a time trying to switch from his dame to the bottle, but we found the nipple he likes!
The other is a new doe. She is older, but oh so sweet. I named her Betty.
She is a LaMancha 75% Nubian 25% mix. She got the quiteness and sweetness of the LaMancha. She is one big girl, built like a tank! She was exposed to an Alpine buck for all of Feb so I am hoping she was breed.

I hope to breed her next year to the buckling. I will probly keep any doelings and send any boys to freezer camp when the time comes.

Captain is very splashy (eyecatching) nigi?
Yup I have an older doe that has that sweet expression can definitely see the nubian and lamancha in her! She looks content ...
I often wonder though why cross nubian(long ear) with lamancha(stub ear) ?

Captain is full Alpine. Sire is very flashy as well and throws flashy kids. I am hoping for the same out of him.

She looks serene!

Being in with a buck in February isn't likely to produce kids. While some Nubians are year round breeders, most dairy goats are seasonal. August through December is the normal breeding season. Did anyone see her in heat?
