Frankie is driving me crazy

He is going bald again. I think it's from scratching. It's allll along his back now and the skin is white and flaky. Really flaky. What else can I try?
I have tried
Ivermectin weekly for 3 weeks for mites
Cylence topical for lice
Replamin Plus
MTG
Zinc supplements
Copper Bolus
BOSS

He looks like hell

Here's another, shorter one. Makes me think some kind of mineral or vitamin deficiency.

Mac was losing hair. Didn't have mites or anything. I think he just started scratching one spot and it felt so good he kept at it.

We used A&D ointment. Cleared him right up.

What about a weekly bath with oatmeal, peppermint, and tea tree oil soap? I know they hate baths. It may help. Just get a good dog oatmeal and honey soap add a little peppermint oil and tea tree oil. Helps me a lot and my dog with very dry skin. I could mix some up and send it to you if you want to try.

I wonder if a white ointment like A & D might help but 1 that is for fungus, like for athletes foot? I can't think of the names of any of them but Pony made me think of it when she mentioned A & D ointment.

Thank you for the offer! But it's too cold here for baths. My goats have never had a bath lol!! neither have my horses or my truck We do have oatmeal shampoo at the vet clinic and I have both of those oils on hand. I suppose I could drag him into the bathtub in the house.
I think I will try the A&D oinment first. I'm going to have to put a T-shirt on him..I noticed he is starting to burn even without anything topical on it

If he were human I would say he had a form of psoriasis. That is unlikely if he is out in the sun much, but if it is he will need some kind of steroid salve. It also could be a fungus similar to ring worm I guess.

If its fungal, mix some liquid copper soap 2 to 4 time stronger than recommended and spray all the white flaky spots. The white spots will turn blue but in a week you'll notice they are falling off leaving natural skin on the surface. In a couple weeks you should see hair regrowth.

2nd the idea of increasing the oil in the diet. BOSS, Coconut Oil (Thanks, Alice!), Olive Oil, Peanut Oil or even "cheap" vegetable oil. I tried to get my goat to eat "Horseshine" crushed flax seed, but they very carefully ate the Alfalfa pellets without getting one "iota" of flax seed.

P.S. Liquid Copper works really good for all types of fungal problems: Plant, Animal, and even Human. Knocks out athletes foot in 2 days

Possibly rub some pure coconut oil into the flaky areas. I use it on my hands when they get dry and if the girls' udder start to get dry (this time of year especially), I use it on their udders. It takes only a tiny bit and soaks in really nicely.

We have a Kiko/Boer doe who sometimes just drops her hair at the turn of the season. She has to wear a jacket until she re-grows enough hair that she doesn't freeze or get sunburned. Sometimes when she drops her hair she also happens to have some dry skin underneath (which looks flaky), but other times her skin looks just fine.

It doesn't appear to be mites or fungal. None of her pasturemates have ever lost any hair. She's just a weirdo. Maybe your Frankie is just a weirdo too.
