well, our story came out in the farm paper today.

It's not bad, but some of the things make me say "I should have proofed that for you lady!".

First, Moose is a BERNESE Mountain dog, not a Burmese. That's like people saying they have Belgiums and not Belgians. Ack! grammer!

Then she says we made a hobby farm out of our yard, WTH? we have 7 acres, one acre is yard, the rest fenced. ?

Oh and Derby, our little monster of a 5 wk old mini mancha buckling is blue eyed. Huh, pretty sure he's brown and that's how I was gonna register him. There wasn't even a blue eyed goat here for her to see (Clover was out in the big barn).

And the pic she took of the 2 nigerian kids and says they live in a play pen, makes it look like my house is made out of OSB board with bags of shavings! They lived in the house for a week, not currently. And, she forgot my website. There goes my sales, unless people are smart enuf to google.

Don't you love it? Most of them can never get the whole story correct. Makes me wish we could write the article and have THEM proof read it.

Oh my goodness, that is just awful. She came out to interview you and then wrote about you like that? I'm so sorry. I hope it doesn't hurt your business too much.

What does the part about acid and pickles have to do with alfalfa? That confused me! It's like two sentences put together with the end of one and the beginning of the other missing.

Also, were the chicks maybe in the brooder when she visited and she mis-heard you and thought you said "on order" instead of "in the brooder"? I don't know...I'm just trying to figure out how anyone could make that mistake.

You'd think she's a journalist she should know what she's doing & get it right. I did still think that was pretty cool that they came out to do an interview of you & your farm it's just too bad she messed up so many things.

I don't know why she put that in about the alfalfa. Wisconsin is quite often humid, or rainy around the time 2nd and 3rd crop alfalfa is made, so with the big square bales (8' long), many farmers push the harvest and put it up a tiny bit damp and spray it with acid, which makes it smell pickled and if the doe is on a diet of that hay only, her milk tastes pickled. The other extreme around here is getting alfalfa which is way too dry, and the leaves shatter, leaving you with stems, and with goats, that's pure waste. Hence why we did grassier hay and alf pellets, and now grassy hay and Chaffhaye.

She saw the chickens in the coop, so I have no clue on that.

And she keeps calling them LaManchas, not Mini Lamanchas/Manchas. So it looks like I don't know what I have. grrr...

Wow, I bet your local hay farmers are happy with that article too. Plus, it's the "cheese state", if the alfalfa had that affect on the milk, wouldn't there be more problems?

It wasn't the best article, but then again, I guess you get what you pay for. Sorry for your disappointment.
