Not goats, I lost my dog yesterday

I couldn't post about it yesterday, and I can't type it again, but here is my blog post.

Run Free My Beloved Katydid

Please excuse any typos, I couldn't read it through to edit it.

She will be waiting for you, Honey. You can bet your last dollar on it. Love like that lives on and on. It is the best reason for living. How lucky you both were to know each other.

Oh Oat Bucket..I am so very very sorry for your loss. She was so young to have this happen to her. I know I don't have words to comfort you..but I pray that comfort will come very soon. She surely loved you and knew how much you loved her. The picture of you two together is my favorite.

I pray time will heal your heart..and allow the good memories to flow in.

Take care my friend..you had no choice.

Wondeful tribute. I guess you were both lucky to have each other. Sometimes that certain dog comes along. Sometimes you get lucky and have two certain dogs. I have had one that none others have lived up to. She has been gone many years now and I have 4 other dogs. One is a special dog (they all are but this one a bit more) he too is not quite the dog Wolf was although I love them all. I am sorry you had her for such a short time. Bless you both.

I know what you mean Oat Bucket. Almost 2 years ago we had to put down our 20 year old Tootie girl. She was a small mixed breed dog. Seeing pics of her will put me in tears..but ah..I can now follow that up with a smile.

I believe you have to mourn Oat Bucket. I'm ready to shed some tears for ya myself. And when we love an animal and lose them..I believe they take a piece of hearts with them. I believe they leave a bit of themselves with us. Isn't it grand that we have the opportunity to love and be loved?

This is the hurtful part girl..but I know you wouldn't have traded the past four or so years with her..would ya? Our time with them out weights our sorrow when they move on.

There's another special dog out there that needs you at some point. No, it won't be like Katydid..they will bring their own special uniqueness to you. I'm getting kinda long in the tooth. I've had some wonderful dogs in my life. No two were alike..not one had the same personality or gifts. But each was and is a huge blessing to my life.

I feel so bad for ya. I truly do.

What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful girl...I have tears rolling down my face after reading that . I have put 2 of my heart animals down in just over a year and both of those times came right back to me reading your blog post. ((((((HUGS)))))) What a beautiful, beautiful piece of writing and I can see how much she loved you and how much you loved her. Thank you for sharing that with all of us .

Oh now I am crying all over again remembering how I felt with both of mine and my heart just aches and aches for you . My prayers and thoughts are with you...

Justine

You wrote a beautiful tribute that has me in tears!

Sure wish doing what is best for our beloved four-legged babies wasn't so hard. We lost our 6-yr-old Keeshond, Lexie, in September and my heart still aches from missing her.

RIP Katydid!!

I would gladly do it all over again even if I knew how it would end. My four and half years with her were worth every tear and every bit of this heart ache.

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words, I wish I could answer each post but coming back to this thread just makes start crying all over again. I agree, some animals are great companions and wonderful, and other's become actual pieces of of our hearts. Katie was a piece of mine.

Oh my gosh Audra I'm so sorry! My best girl was a dog named Zory. No dog will never even come close to her in my heart. My Zory had cancer twice and both times I told the vet I wasn't ready to say good bye. She lived to be 14, which for a Rottweiler wasn't too bad but for me it wasn't enough. My heart aches for her, and I think about her everyday.

Your story of Katie brings that all back to me. I know your sadness and heartache and I'm so sorry. I wouldn't wish that heartache on anyone. Dogs should live longer, it's just not fair. I am glad your Katie is not suffering but I sure wish you weren't. Hugs to you and your family and to the bestest, most wonderfulist dog out there, Ms Katie.
