Ugh! Barberpole already?!

I just checked my does and several are becoming pale. I wormed each day after kidding with Ivomec. Thats been about 2 1/2 weeks. Doesn't appear to have done anything, just getting worse. I'm researching the Cydectin Cattle pour on or Quest. Any of you had experience with either of these in the worm cursed South? I'm in Georgia, never got cold enough to kill the *&%#@* things off this winter. Plus whatever the goats were harboring. Its becoming a nightmare again.

What are the pros & cons of each?

Thanks!

What did you use at kidding?

Cydectin pour-on I won't be using once I run out. It's essentially a kerosene carrier, which I don't think is great to drench a goat with. I don't think it's horrible, but if I can avoid it, might as well. Quest horse gel is the same drug, but is an oral paste.

Dose for cydectin pour-on is 1cc per 22lbs, dose for Quest is 1cc per 100lbs.

Thank you MYGOAT. I used Ivomec Injectable. It work well but not great last year. I suspect the crafty devils have become resistant. Or the goats might just be picking up more off the pasture..? Do worms develop that fast? I just started letting the goats out about 2 weeks ago.

When I worm the day of kidding I always worm them again 10 days later. I'd use the Quest like Mygoat suggested, especially if you only have a few goats. It will be cheaper that way.
