Hazel's kids

Hazel kidded this morning about 1:30. First freshening yearling kidded with triplets. 2 bucks 1 doe. All black with frosted ears nose and poll. Brown trim and big guy has a blaze down his face. Hazel is doing well. A little shell shocked I think. She had no idea why she felt so bad! I was hoping she would want to keep them but she wanted nothing to do with those slimey wiggling things. I wanted to raise the doe and let her have the bucks but oh well. 6 kids out of 2 does, not bad.
Will get pics when I get off work.

LOL. I know it didn't happen yet. I was a little surprised at 3 but she was soooo big. The bad thing is her back legs are bowed pretty bad now. I hopw she comes out of it ok. Never have had this happen before. Although, never had a yearling have triplets either.

congrats .. triplets out of a FF..(it's always hard on them..I would guess that with time and getting to keep all of the calories/minerals for herself.. those legs will straighten) as long as she doesn't put it all into the milk bucket!

Thanks! I sure hope she gets better. Yes, she is definately walking better already. Still awfully loose back there so will take a few days to tighten up. She even looks a smidge better already but still bad. I need to trim her hoove and will do that in a few days when she isnt so ouchy. She just had too much trouble even getting around and standing that I didn't want to mess with her feet hat last month. Here are some pics of Hazels' legs.

And here are some pictures of her kids. Well all of the kids I guess. The 3 brown on the right are Hannah's and the 3 black on the left are Hazel's. The black one with the white face is a buck. The black one standing up is the doe and the other black facing the camera is a buck. Does name is Honor not sure about the bucks yet. The brown kid farthest to the left is Hannah's doe. Her name is Holly. The brown one facing away is Hoss and the little brown guy at the back is Havoc.
And the other pic is Holly saying Hello from her scaled straw bale. Waffles the cat watching.

I had a yearling FF several years ago whose front legs became very badly bowed towards the end of her pregnancy. Did not know about copper bolusing back then. I bolused her, and her legs wert perfectly straightened out within a month!

Her legs look exactly like Vinnie's. I gave Vinnie Phos-aid last Friday as treatment for Bent Leg, but I haven't seen drastic imporvement yet...heard it could take two or three weeks. She does seem to be willing to walk and stand more than she was, and she doesn't seem to be as unsteady on her feet, so it makes me hopeful that she is feeling better.

Good Grief! I keep remembering way back in January when you said that Hazel and our Safari were a lot alike!! Yes, they are! Both FF, both had triplets AND Safari, too, has the bowed leg thing. I thought it was my hoof trimming!! lol. Now I think maybe I better copper bolus!

That is interesting. : ) I think that Hazel is getting plenty of copper through minerals, a bolus in November and Replamin Plus. I am leaning towards her just being too heavy. Could be the same with your doe too.
